with Adi Amar at Anu Yoga School, Durango, CO

September 26-28, 2025 Anu Yoga School

A Yoga Journey through the artistry of Asana, mantra, mudra, breath, meditation and Myth

Register At Anu Yoga School

Join us for a transformative weekend at Anu Yoga School in the heart of Durango, CO. This four-part workshop blends storytelling, mantra, mudra, meditation, movement, and mythic consciousness into a powerful journey of personal awakening.

Together, we will burn through outdated patterns and ignite new, purposeful pathways of thought, behavior, and embodied presence.

Rooted in the timeless tale of Hanuman—the archetype of devotion, courage, love and faith—each session invites you to leap boldly into the unknown, supported by practices that recalibrate the nervous system, expand your perspective, and awaken the innate wisdom of the heart.

Friday September 26, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM The Courageous Deep Breath : Hips and Breath

Forget to Re-member

Arrive fully in your breath and body. This opening session gently guides you into the sacred container of the weekend, establishing a foundation for discovery, transformation, and wholehearted commitment.

With a focus on breath awareness, intentional hip openers, and mythic storytelling, we begin to unlock tension stored in the pelvis and access a deeper, more generous breath—one that roots you in presence and reawakens your inner knowing.

Sometimes we must forget who we are—only to be stirred by something that truly matters, and in that remembering, return to ourselves. This is the breath that calls us home: back to the heart of the courageous self ready to rise.

Saturday September 27, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM Leap with Courage: Feet, Legs and Spine

Redouble Your Efforts – Move Beyond the Lure of Comfort

In a world that constantly lures us with comfort and distraction, this class invites you to pause, take a courageous breath, and choose commitment over convenience. Through dynamic asana, breathwork, mantra, and focused intention, we’ll generate the energy and inner fire needed to keep going—even when it feels easier to retreat into the familiar.

This practice calls you to rise above habitual responses and mediocrity, and to align instead with conscious choice, deeper meaning, and purposeful action—on the mat and in your life.

Clear your legs, free your spine, and open your heart as you prepare to take a courageous, embodied leap into your own greatness.

Saturday September 27, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Protect the Mind: The Power of Breath, Sound and Silence

Expand Your Perspective

When we open to new ways of seeing, we begin to perceive the full tapestry of our inner and outer worlds. This session invites you to expand your perspective through sound, breath, and subtle awareness—guiding you across the vast terrain of the mind and into resonance with an energetic signature that truly supports and sustains you.

Using the vibrational medicine of mantra, the cleansing power of breath, and the spaciousness of silence we gently attune the nervous system and create room for inner clarity. In this sacred space, we expand our capacity to hold greater complexity, embrace the unknown, and move forward with compassion, courage, and a sense of integrated wholeness.

Sunday September 28, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM Unravel Your Heart and Lead with Love: Twists and Backbends

Integration & Love as the Great Leap

We all carry fragmented parts of ourselves—exiled emotions, inherited beliefs, and hidden fears tucked beneath the surface. In this contemplative, heart-opening class, we’ll draw on the potency of the practices to create a steady, compassionate space where all the parts of the self are seen, heard, accepted and welcomed home.

True courage is to meet all the parts of the self and remember you are already whole.

Through backbends and twists we honor the full arc of your journey—from effort to surrender, fear to courage, fragmentation to integration, forgetfulness to remembrance. Inspired by Hanuman’s unwavering devotion and heroic heart, we’ll explore what it means to lead with love, even when it's vulnerable, even when it's uncertain.

This is the great leap: to love anyway.

  • Adi Amar was introduced to yoga in 1994 and has been studying and practicing yoga sincerely since the age of 15. She completed her first formal training in 2001 at Mount Madonna under the guidance of Baba Hari Das.

Adi was hooked by the practice of Yoga as a mental, emotional, and physical healing system. In 1998, Adi had the fortunate experience to practice with Tim Miller and was instantly drawn to the Ashtanga Yoga method. After years of dedicating herself to the Ashtanga practice she began exploring other methods that would assist her in healing a major knee injury from skiing.

She started studying Iyengar Yoga and integrated a slower approach to her practice and teaching. As a result, Adi weaves detailed alignment within Vinyasa style yoga classes. Adi believes that consistent practice with open awareness is the window into reorganizing old mental patterns and tendencies that have been knowingly or unknowingly ingrained into how we operate and experience life. Through utilizing technologies for well being, Adi strives to inspire a passion for regular practice and taking responsibility for one’s own experience of living life to the fullest. Adi offers methods for individuals to extend his/her own growth and wisdom within inspiring classes that integrate the spiritual and philosophical teachings of Yoga.
